With patience built over generations,
we support the long-term wellbeing of women and the planet.
"To help women live with greater wellbeing and wholeness" — this conviction sits at the root of the Group's business, and is where our understanding of "sustainability" begins today. For Toyo Bijin, sustainability has never been a box-ticking exercise in disclosure; it is the practical expression of a long-standing commitment — one we answer to the next generation: in every leaf, every gram of raw material, every line of research, and every allocation of capital.
The Group's Sustainability Mission
A heritage that endures
begins with the choices we make today.
Sustainability, a Commitment for Generations.

Three pillars
supporting the same one promise.
Environment
Environment
Carbon neutrality pathway, traceable raw materials, recyclable packaging. Beginning from the green chemistry practice of the Kyoto Institute, weaving every molecule's long‑term relationship with the planet into the language of R&D.
Social
Social
The Women's Wellness Initiative as the flagship; employee gender balance and long‑term development as the cornerstone; supply chain ethics and community symbiosis as the extension. Social wholeness is the precondition of business.
Governance
Governance
Board independence and gender balance, a dual-engine internal control framework, a robust code of ethics and compliance. Governance is the true bedrock of an enduring enterprise.
Three years,
three lines from which we do not retreat.
Time is the only true test of a commitment. We tie every commitment to a defined year, and accept being tested, questioned, and held to account.
2027
Traceability
100% Traceable Raw Materials
From the cultivation site and harvest batch of botanical raw materials to inbound inspection at the Kyoto Institute — a full-chain traceability system. Every drop of essence can be traced to its piece of land.
2028
Circularity
100% Recyclable / Biodegradable Packaging
Phasing out all non-recyclable composite materials, transitioning to glass, aluminum, recycled plastics, and bio-based materials — with a domestic Japan recycling program established.
2030
Net Zero
Net-Zero Production Sites
Net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions across Scope 1 and Scope 2. From the Kyoto Institute to the Japanese production sites — achieved through renewable electricity and process reconstruction.
The Women's Wellness Initiative.
The defining achievement of the Group's ESG.
"That at thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, and throughout life, you remain the woman you set out to become." This is not advertising copy — it is how the Group brings sustainability down to the level of an individual life.
Pillar One
R&D Investment in Intimate Care
The Bijin Privé intimate-care research line reflects the Group's long-term commitment to an area of women's health that has long been private and overlooked. Clinical and formulation research has continued for over seven years, under the oversight of an independent ethics committee.
Pillar Two
Women's Health Education Public-Interest Fund
In partnership with the Japanese gynecological community, we provide women with lifelong health education, research grants, and community workshops — translating the language of science into health knowledge they can use every day.

Where the most patient research
to build the most enduring kind of capital.
Sustainability follows naturally from this idea: the patience of science, the staying power of capital, and our relationship with the planet and with women are, in the end, one and the same.
